Darius “DJ” Jennings

Born in Norfolk Virginia, raised in McDonough Georgia. Darius “DJ” Jennings attended Luella High School out of Locust Grove Ga. A two year starting second baseman on Varsity. Senior year batted in the 2,3,4 and 5 hole while helping carry #1 ranked Luella to the class 5A Elite 8 both years.

Out of high school signed to go play D1 baseball at Southern University in Baton Rouge Louisiana. Freshman year I was awarded Pre season and Regular season freshman of the year. First Start was Against LSU going 3-5 with a RBI .. Made it to the SWAC conference Championship in 2011-2012 season. Sophomore and Junior year transferred to Shorter University in Rome GA. Senior year attended Power House NAIA Faulkner University who was ranked #1 in NAIA. Captain of the team. A utility player hitting lead off, led the 2015-2016 to the NAIA World Series Championship Game. During the season had a 20 game hitting streak ,23 multi hit games , while batting .500 throughout half the season, .400+ in conference games and finished hitting .386 with 5 HRs and 35 stolen bags.. Awarded the CHAMPIONS OF CHARACTER which represented the 5 core values of NAIA Respect, Responsibility, Integrity, Sportsmanship, and Servant Leadership.

Selected To play in a Japanese Professional League. Later replaced by Future Hall of Famer Manny Ramirez.
