Julius Gaines, born and raised in Georgia, is a renowned trainer and former professional baseball player specializing in hitting and infield training.
Prior to training, Julius was known as one of the best infielders to come out of the state of Georgia. His decorated high school career at Luella High included 2011 number one ranked high school shortstop and the overall number three high school ranked player in the state of Georgia. He was also named the number two ranked high school shortstop nationwide behind only Francisco Lindor. Julius was also named Under Armor Pre-Season All-American, Louisville Pre-Season High School All-American Honorable Mention, and Second Team Southeast All-Region Selection.
Following his high school career, Julius was selected by the Boston Red Sox in the 2011 MLB draft class. Julius however, decided to forgo professional baseball to attend college at Florida International University. During his college baseball career, Julius was a four-year starter and two-time captain as he helped lead the FIU Panthers to their first Conference USA championship where he was also selected to the All Tournament team. After completing his degree in Sports Management, Julius was once again selected in the 2015 MLB draft by the Seattle Mariners.
Since concluding his professional career due to recurring injuries, Julius’ off season lessons grew into his company that was established in 2017 and is now known as “Ground Up Baseball” where he strives to help kids reach their full potential and experience all that baseball has to offer
