Matt Phillips

Matt is a 1997 graduate of Milton High School where he was an All-Region selection as a pitcher.  After High school he continued his playing career at Samford University where he pitched in games against Vanderbilt and his beloved Georgia Bulldogs.  He then transferred to Truett-McConnell College and played on a team that was ranked in the Top 15 nationally.

Matt coached at Centennial for 5 years (the last two years as the Varsity pitching coach) before moving to West Forsyth High School for 3 more seasons as their pitching coach. Matt left the High School coaching box and took on travel baseball where he was a head coach for Denny Pritchett’s Georgia Jayhawks for 2 years before being hired by Team Georgia Baseball Academy this past fall. Matt was Jordan Hill’s pitching coach this past season with the 14u Red team and will be joining Jordan again this season with the Georgia Bombers Baseball 13U.

Matt currently still teaches at West Forsyth High School along with his wife Meredith. They reside in Cumming, Ga and have 2 children, Camryn (6) and Grant (4).
